>> Yin Yoga Workshop: Experience Yoga, Deeper
Saturday, June 20th, 12:30-2:30pm at Sol Full Yoga (note the workshop is NOT at the Monroe Yoga location).
In this 2 hour workshop Ronen will be giving at Sol Full Yoga, we will explore the practice of Yin Yoga. Using traditional asanas that require less of an external effort, Yin Yoga has a deep effect, resulting in stretching of connective tissue and opening of pathways to allow free flow of energy. To quote Paul Grilley, who had been on the forefront of promoting this practice, "The main differences between a Yin and a Yang (more strenuous and external) Yoga practice are that Yin postures should be done with the muscles relaxed and be held a long time. This is because connective tissue does not stretch like muscles and will not respond well to brief stresses."
This workshop will include use of props, such as sand bags, belts, bolsters and eye-pillows. Asanas will be held 3 to 8 minutes each, using very little, if any, muscle effort. You may feel very relaxed and heavy after class, even slightly lightheaded, thus driving back home should be done with caution. No previous knowledge of Yin yoga is required. Accommodating all levels. Advanced registration required. $25 collected by Sol Full Yoga.
Sol Full Yoga is located at 101 Carpenter Pl #4, Monroe, NY 10950.

2. I-Ching: Find an Answer to a Burning Question!
I-Ching, also known as the Classic of Changes, is one of the oldest of the Chinese classic texts. It is a book of oracle that answers specific questions put to it by using a system that includes seemingly random coin tosses to generate hexagrams. The results, interpreted by a trained master reader, Sifu Ken Lo, will describe the environment surrounding a problem and offer solutions through wise actions. Each question asked takes an hour to answer. Cost is $60. Please have a VERY specific question you wish to find an answer for.
Examples of a specific I-
Ching questions: Would I succeed as an entrepreneur? Will I meet a compatible mate? Should I move to L.A.? Should I go back to school?
Examples of non-specific question which are not well answered by I-Ching: What direction will my life take in the next ten years? Will I have more career opportunities soon? Is money on the horizon?
This is a very powerful tool and a unique and fascinating experience you do not wish to miss. As with past events with Sifu Ken Lo, advanced registration and payment are required. Please send payment via Paypal (please include your name and what you are paying for in the paypal form or email Ronen separately). Fee may also be paid at the studio by Mar 26th and Apr 17th respectively. Please note, if the event will be cancelled for any reason, you will be fully refunded. Space is limited.

>> Chinese Calligraphy Workshop
Saturday, April 20th, 2:00pm-4:00pm at Monroe Yoga and Tai Chi.
Chinese calligraphy is considered by many the highest form of art. In calligraphy, as in painting, the quality of the line is of paramount importance. A line has to have interest through natural bumps, curves and variations. Straight lines are not absolutely straight but have character. The biology, breath, and nervous system of the artist must show through in every stroke of the brush. The resulting characters appear to be "alive" with spirit and energy (Qi).
Sifu Ken Lo has studied classical Chinese calligraphy since 1990 with Master Lo Chien Wu, student of the legendary calligrapher Leon Long Yien Chang, author of: Four Thousand Years of Chinese Calligraphy.
Specializing in Chuan Shu, the first Chinese writing of the Shang Dynasty, Sifu Lo's calligraphs are of the San Pan bronze bowl unearthed in an archaeological dig. These characters represent the calligraphy principle of "Hide the head and protect the tail," in which the beginning and end of the strokes cannot be seen by the viewer.
This calligraphy workshop will concentrate on the process of copying from actual rubbings of the San Pan bronze bowl to capture the life essence contained in these 4,000 year old characters.
All material will be provided and students will create calligraphic works of art that reflects their own true nature. A meditative attitude and posture will be used during the entire class to elicit the awakening of the unconscious mind to create "natural" works of art free of contrived form. The objects of the artist scholar's studio will be introduced and used by each student. No previous experience or knowledge are required!
Date: Saturday, 4/20/2013
Time: 2-4pm
Tuition: $30 if paid at door, $25 if paid in advanced.
Do not miss this special opportunity to experience the magic of Calligraphy!
For advanced discounted payment please click here (scroll to the bottom of the page and follow the Paypal button – no need to fill out the fom,) or just pay at the Studio prior to the event. Space is limited.

>> Finding your Ultimate Love - Your Self: The Hidden Secrets of Tantra Yoga
Sunday, August 5th, 1:00pm-3:00pm at Monroe Yoga and Tai Chi.
The path of Tantra can be quite confusing; so many perspectives, points of view, various scriptures and a wide range of different practices and exercises. Where does one start? How can we convey to our partner that we are interested in pursuing this type of exploration? How do we practice on our own, if its even possible? What practices should we try, and once we start, what do we actually learn? How do we engage in a Tantric exploration of life? How can we communicate what we’ve processed and learned to our Tantric partner?
In this event, guided by Ran Baron we will discuss how to embark on a Tantric exploration and how to communicate our interests, needs and boundaries to our partners. This session will open up the idea of energy work, touch upon challenging emotions, and offer a brief overview of what can be available by walking this path. The event will offer numerous practices for solo and partner work.
No previous experience or knowledge is required for attending; only an open heart and an inquisitive mind that is willing to ask questions, challenge assumptions and explore in a group setting.
Event cost is $20 if paid in advance, $25 at the door. RSPV is requested to assure seating. Click here to register and pay in advance online (this is a direct link to paypal - please include your name and what you are paying for in the paypal form or email me separately). In the twelfth century the Chinese master Kakuan drew pictures of the ten bulls, basing them on earlier Taoist bulls, and wrote comments in prose and verse to accompany the drawings. It has been a constant source of inspiration to spiritual aspirants ever since. This month we are glad to add a special lecture titled:
The Return to the Place You've Never Left - Insights into the Ten Bulls of Kakuan.
The event will be taking place Wednesday, November 17th, 8:30pm-10pm, at the Monroe Yoga and Tai Chi Studio.
In this lecture, given by Ran Baron, we will be exploring the path of the mystics, their dilemmas, conflicts and moments of clarity. What does it mean to seek for truth? What does it mean to walk the spiritual path? Using the timeless illustrative Tomikichiro Tokuriki wood prints inspired by the original drawings of master Kakuan, we will go through the 10 steps on the path of a truth seeker. Drawing in, but not limited to, the timeless teachings of Zen, we shall try to expand our perspective on this exciting topic. No previous experience or knowledge are required to attend. Unlike the the meditation events, this lecture will not include physical exercises. Tea will be served. $10 admission.
